ok it's been four days since I first read the op fairytale/prophecy/history lesson and I've spent all of them thinking about it and reading theories about it this is how I'm understanding it right now

I don't know how literal this is going to be (depends on whether the first world really was our modern world or not) but I'm reasonably sure at least the inspiration for this bit is a nuclear war or at least the nuclear fission, since for obvious reasons that's a point of inspiration for end of the world scenarios in japanese media pretty often

A reference to the first instance of Nika's awakening, obviously, though I have no clue who the god of the earth might be still (maybe imu? But it's more thematic than with any actual evidence so who knows). Might also be just a general reference to the end of the first world/a form of terraforming, since in the second part the same wording is used to refer to the sea levels rising

Absolutely zero clue I'll be honest with you all. I have a sinking feeling this might be somewhat tied to the serpent up in skypiea since there's references to that arc in the mural right under, but I haven't read skypiea in too long to be sure of the hows and whys (might just go look it up tbh)

Breath upon the emptiness obv refers to the birth of new life after the end of the first world. Someone on here mentioned the forest god/demons as a reference to the creation of the devil fruits and I absolutely believe it. The sun spreading war is another obvious reference - joyboy

Half-moon people -> people with the D
Moon people -> I'm thinking lunarians
Since they're called moon and half moon I wonder if the D people are descendants or anyway somehow related to lunarians btw. I mentioned in another post that I'm starting to believe some people of the first world actually built Enel's ark and reached the moon to escape from the destruction of the first world, and that lunarians might just be direct descendants of the original people of earth - it's obviously just speculation, but the ark in the sky in the first part of the mural does look like Enel's.
Also going on a little tangent but at first I thought the second ark in the bottom left of the first page was ALSO a reference to Enels, but now I'm thinking it's a reference to Noah's ship from fishermen island (there's the animals in pairs by it and all too). Noah's ship is supposed to have been built during the void century so now I'm wondering whether the one on the mural is literally the one we see in the story and that part of the mural is just referring to the second world, or if like Enel with his own ark the fishermen of the void century had stories about the original ark and rebuilt it to save life from the flooding (then again, why would fishermen need an ark to be saved from the flooding? I've had a suspicion that they evolved into fishermen after or during the void century for a while now and that's why they have history that they used to live on land tbh, this might just give me a little more to add on that theory)
Btw, I remember long ago thinking that maybe the D only served to identify the descendants of the people original to laugh tale, and that was why they were the celestial dragons natual enemies since they were at war with them. I wonder how that ties in all of this if they really are relatives of the lunarians somehow
Anyway, back on track

The celestial dragons killed joyboy and ascended to mariejois, pretty direct. Worth remembering that to ascend to meriejois aside from killing joyboy they also had to pretty much exterminate the lunarians, who lived there before them. War on the D (half moon) people in laugh tale, war on the lunarians (moon) on mariejois

Reference to the sea levels rising. Starting to think the god of the sea is pretty directly and simply poseidon (the ancient weapon who is now shirahoshi, I mean)

The world government erased every mention of the war with joyboy from history and created the void century, pretty direct

(no more than ten pics from the app so rip ig)
In the official translations the "fragmented moon" is simply translated as half-moon so this is probably a reference to the D people and how they still fight against the world government whether consciously or by fate (about how the D people always bring chaos and change, I'm thinking that's what it might mean when it says "hear the voice of the half moon" -> something in them tells them to spread chaos, which is kinda funny ngl)
The second part is literally just Luffy and how he's gonna cause the third end and rebirth of the world, as every nika has done before him (I mentioned so already somewhere else but I believe madame shirley's prediction about luffy destroying fishermen island falls somewhere around here too)
If ANYONE has any clue what "they will never meet again" -> "they will surely meet again" is referring to please let me know it's driving me NUTS who are we talking about here !!!
EDIT: okay I just now read someone mention this last point might be talking abou the four seas and you know what!!! I might just believe it!!!
#op spoilers#brain going into overdrive over this#had i had the space for it i would have pointed at all the bits i find interesting in the mural too#but I'm from the app so no more than ten pics rip#instead you get the whole rant about enel's ark and noah's ark in the middle sorry bout that www#all of this btw and I'm even more confused what was there to laugh about when roger read the real history of the void century#how's this funny man let me in on the joke!!!#i already know im writing all these theories and in the end oda's gonna make it something dumb as shit#and I won't even be able to get mad cause the man told me it was gonna be stupid a gazillion years ago!!!

All odd for Kit
1. What is your OC’s favorite color?Red, without a doubt.
3. What kind of things is your OC allergic to?Strawberries, grass pollen, and zinc.
5. What is your OC’s first memory?Sitting alone in his family’s library, reading Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
7. What element would your OC be?fire!
9. Do you have a faceclaim / voiceclaim for your OC?Not really, no.
11. What are your OC’s hobbies?Reading, fucking, traveling, playing piano.
13. What is your OC’s gender / sexuality / race / species / etc.?Male/pansexual/white/human
15. If your OC could have any pet, what would they choose? Why?He’s not really the pet type.
17. How do they make a living? What kind of job do they want / not want? What is their dream job? What do they think of their current job?He makes a living by jack and shit. He just happened to be born to a rich family. He’s a lazy fuck who does nothing all day except spend his dad’s money.
19. What kind of music do they listen to? Do they have a favorite song?He doesn’t really listen to music, unless he’s playing it. He couldn’t name a favorite, but he def has a least favorite. Fur Elise drives him fucking insane cause that was always the piece his parents would have him play to show off when he was young.
21. What personal problems/issues do they have? Pet peeves?Oh, dear, the list could go on for miles. He gets along horribly with his father and stepmother, he has commitment issues and attachment issues, and Violet is basically abusive to him. He’s also kind of an alcoholic, and a complete deadbeat with no real goals in life. One of his pet peeves is when anything that shouldn’t be wet is wet. Like a seat, or a patch of the floor, or anything like that. He also can’t stand really loud noises, because he has super good hearing. And he really hates when someone takes his glasses to look at them or mess with him, because he’s p much legally blind without them.
23. What is a random fact about your OC? He has his mother’s birthday (which is the same as his, different year obv) tattooed on his arm.
25. What inspired you to create them / how did you create them? Were they originally a fancharacter? What was their personality / design like when you first made them?He hasn’t changed much since his original conception. I designed him in my dating game phase, hence his gotta-get-laid tendencies.
27. What kind of childhood did your character have?Very isolated. His father never paid him any attention except at events, and his mother was v sickly so she didn’t have much energy to interact with him before she died when he was seven. He mostly had nursemaids tending to him, and they weren’t super friendly, they just fed and bathed him and made sure he didn’t die. He spent most of his time alone, reading. When he was maybe eight or nine, he met Violet at a function with both of their families, and they’ve been close ever since. Violet got him to start leaving the house and exploring, and with the guidance of her and the other friends he acquired, he got to be much more outgoing and happy. He was still kind of an awkward kid up through early high school, but around the time puberty settled down, he had his shit a bit more together and turned into more of the suave, laid-back guy he is today.
29. If they could choose their epitaph for their grave, what would they choose?“Hopefully, I left a good-looking corpse.”
31. What is their most traumatic memory/experience? What is their favorite memory? One summer at the beach when he was young, he almost drowned, which led to his phobia of large bodies of water. His favorite memory is probably reading books with his mother when he was smol.
33. Would they ever kill someone? What would someone have to do to push them to kill someone? If they would kill someone, why? It would have to be someone deserving, like a really awful person. But if someone seriously wronged him or one of his close friends, he just might.
35. How is your character’s imagination? Daydreaming a lot? Worried most of the time? Living in memories? He has an awful memory, which really upsets him, because it means he has almost zero recollection of his mother. He spends a lot of time daydreaming and reading as a form of escapism.
37. What’s something that your character does, that other people don’t normally do?Despite being completely physically capable and having plenty of money for a car, he never learned how to drive.
39. What is in your characters refrigerator right now? On their bedroom floor? Nightstand? Garbage can?He wouldn’t even know what’s in his fridge, that’s the chef’s problem. His clothes from last night are on the floor. Glasses on the nightstand. Condom wrappers and empty liquor bottles in the trash.
41. What does your character do when they’re angry? Why?Drink, because it helps him forget about whatever’s pissing him off, since it’s rarely anything that he can fix.
43. What was the most offensive thing your character had ever said? He’s said many awful things to his father over the years, most of them based around the older man being heartless and changing wives nearly as often as his underwear.
45. If your character was given a slice of pineapple pizza and they HAD to eat it (or something bad would happen), how would they react? Do they even LIKE pineapple pizza? He would eat it. He doesn’t mind pineapple pizza, but he does have pretty high standards for pizza in general. Unless he’s drunk. Then he’d shamelessly eat a whole pizza, no matter how shitty.
47. Can your character draw? What do they like to draw? Do they doodle?Noooo he cannot. He can do calligraphy, though, and will often write out things that bother him in a journal.
49. Does your character like candy? Do they get sugar rushes? What are they like when they get a rush?He doesn’t have a particular fondness for candy, but he does like sweets more along the lines of baked goods.
